3 Wainwrights completed - 76 in total.

Green Gable - 801 metres
Great Gable - 899 metres
Lingmell - 807 metres

With another good weather day forecast I decided with great anticipation to head up to the Gable's. The route would take me up to Styhead past the tarn and then steeply up Aaron Slack. I really enjoy this path climbing the flanks of Great Gable, the views are stunning on a clear day and atmospheric in the mist.

The mist was hanging around at Styhead however as I passed the tarn and looked up at Green Gable the sky was clearing and the summit visible.

Just pass the tarn on the Seathwaite path is the left turn to Aaron Slack. The temperature was warming up now and the climb looked relentless however most of it is an engineered path which helped with the steepness.

The last section near to the col is a scree path which I was glad to see the back of, however the view back made it all worthwhile.

The col is Windy Gap, left for Great Gable, right for Green Gable and straight on is Ennerdale.

First up, the short climb up to Green Gable with stunning views all along Ennerdale. A quick visit to both summit cairns a sip of tea and onwards to big brother.

I had already had a look at the route up Great Gable from Windy Gap and had spotted a section of mild scrambling which is always enjoyable. Once out of the way it is but a gentle rising stroll to the summit albeit in the mist at near 900mts.
